Ayanna Pressley and Ayaka Konno

Ayanna Pressley is a policymaker and activist. Ayanna Pressley won election on November 6, 2018, to represent Massachusetts' 7th Congressional District at the U.S. House of Representatives. It is the first time a female of color to have been elected from Massachusetts. Ayanna believes that the people closest to pain ought to be closest to the power and that a diversity of voices within the political system is crucial in the creation of more effective public policy. Ayanna was brought up by a single mom in Chicago after being born within Cincinnati is the sole daughter of a father who worked working in the criminal justice system.
